Production, sales, accounts, leads and quotes, fleet upkeep, and weekly payroll, paid to employees from the same app.

RBM app dashboard with vehicles, maintenance and office cash

The summary.

Running a quarry usually means a register for production, a spreadsheet for sales, another for accounts, and a separate scramble for weekly payroll. RBM folds all of it into one app: production, sales, accounts, leads and quotes, vehicle upkeep, and shift-based payroll paid straight to employees, so the business runs from one place instead of ten. Two phases are live, and a third is planned.

Zapulse understood my problem right away and suggested the right solution. When I came to them with changes, they were flexible and took them on, always explaining how each one would improve the app’s performance. We’ve completed two phases so far, and we’re already planning the next.

About RBM

RBM is a single mobile app that runs a quarry business end to end: production, sales, accounts, lead and quotation tracking, vehicle upkeep, and weekly shift-based payroll paid to employees from the app. Built in React Native on AWS, delivered in phases.

The challenge.

Nothing talks to anything else, so a straight answer about the business means pulling numbers from several places by hand. Payroll, run weekly on shifts, is its own separate exercise.

RBM had to bring all of it into one app: production and sales tracking, accounts, a lead-and-quotation flow for the sales team, vehicle mileage, fuel and service reminders, and weekly shift-based payroll paid to employees directly from the app.

A quarry runs on a dozen moving parts at once: what was produced, what was sold, what’s owed, which leads are open, which vehicles are due for service. Each one usually lives in its own register or spreadsheet.

The solution.

We built a single React Native app on AWS that covers the whole operation: production and sales, accounts, lead-and-quotation tracking for the sales team, vehicle mileage, fuel and service reminders, and weekly shift-based payroll paid to employees directly from the app.

All technologies used.

How we
built it.

The same four phases behind every build we ship: scoped in writing, delivered in milestones, and maintained by the team that built it.

  1. 1.Talk through the problem

    Discovery
    • Your business, not a feature list
    • Who actually uses it day to day
    • Timeline and budget, up front
  2. 2.Scope, estimate and plan

    Written scope
    • What gets built, and in what order
    • Which stack it runs on, and the cost
    • Nothing starts until you approve it
  3. 3.Build and ship in milestones

    Milestones
    • Working software at every milestone
    • No single reveal at the end
    • Feedback folded in as it goes
  4. 4.Live, and kept that way

    On AWS
    • Deployed and running on AWS
    • We stay on after go-live
    • Maintained by the team that built it

The outcome.
